Recent Events

After 2 years of hard work, we were able to re-open our Temple for the benefit of our community at large on Nov 9,2007. All of the visitors were delighted with the set up of the Mandir.

We have added a community center known as the SDM center. It is a 4000 sq ft facility to meet our social and cultural needs. Barin Bando is the Director of the center (Bbando@sdmcenter.org). It is equipped with a commercial kitchen and has a sitting capacity of 180 people.

Diwali Puja was a great success. Over 200 members visited the temple on one day's notice (we received the occupancy permit the day before). Every one of them felt proud of being part of the Mandir family. Shri Laxmi Puja was conducted by our Pundit-jee Laxman Satyal.

On Nov 16, 2007, Maa Ka Jagrata was performed by Mrs. Usha Kamal. As usual, this was a memorable night. The hall was full of people enjoying three hours of non-stop singing (Mata Ke Bhajans) by Usha Ji.

Nov 17, 2007 - Ganesh Jee Sthapna was initiated. This was official start of our Temple when Life was invoked into Ganesh Ji's Statue. Dr. Shankar and Asha Garg along with Dr. Ishwara and Neelu Sharma were the sponsors of Ganesh Shapana. Every one were to carry Kalash on their heads and perform parikrama of the new Temple. What a divine feeling it was! Havan was performed on the Mandir Grounds to purify the area.

Nov 18, 2007 - NavGreh Sthapna was sponsored by Saloni Fadia in honor of her late husband Prashand H. Fadia Foundation. It was a huge success. Family and Friends of Saloni Fadia joined her for this important event. This was followed by Lunch. Our Pandit Laxman Satyal Ji and Shankar Narayan MD did an outstanding job performing the required rituals.
